Dont Focus Too Much On Your Internet Business Website Ranking

Writen by Arthur Wang

No doubt, having a high search engine ranking is very important to a home business owner as it will increase their business revenue. Much money have been spend on search engine optimization software, books, ebook and SEO services in order to obtain a high ranking website.

The goal of every webmaster for their website is to obtain the HIGHEST ranking available in google. However, the algorithm of google kept changing and it is not an easy task to reach that status.

There are many OPEN secrets on how you can obtain a high ranking in the world largest search engine "google".

The top open secret is to obtain reciprocal links by exchanging link with other website or one way back linking via article writing, forum posting or even blogging. So if every webmaster have done that, then wouldn't all of them obtain a high ranking.

As the largest search engine, google wouldn't be that dumb to just obtain the results just because a website has many thousands of links pointing to it. What usually happened is that if the knowledge is available to many of the webmaster, google engineers would know the strategy that millions of webmaster are applying.

It will then lower the points given to linking and create new linking criteria such as:

- the number of relevant links pointing to the website

- the number of irrelevant links pointing to the website

- the number of relevant outgoing links pointing to other website

- the rank of the back linking website

- the anchor text used during the linking etc.

As you can see, a high ranking strategy is a never ending ball game. The search engine criteria results will always be changing and it will always remain an Internal Top Secrets for the Search Engine Companies. However, what google and other search engine wants to achieve is that no one can or should be able to manipulate their search results. The end users of the search engine will be to obtain nothing but RELEVANT results that they are searching for.

All this is not that bad because it give new webmaster and their website a chance in the google search engine. As long as your website contents are fresh, unique and relevant, it will stand a great chance of begin display in the google search engine results. Google employed many smart software engineers and any loop holes which webmaster tried to exploit now will eventually be cover up. Many webmasters have learn the hard way after their website are penalized for trying to exploit some of the search engine weakness.

Therefore, do what you can to make your website search engine friendly but don't focus too much on your search engine ranking. There are also other useful Internet Advertising method such as PPC Search Engine Advertising, Forum Posting, Blogging etc.

Wishing you success in advertising your Internet Business Website.

Writen by Gregg Makarowski

Have you ever seen any email offers of getting you to the top of search engines guaranteeing top rankings. Like anything in life there is no quick result without hard work. When it comes to designing a website it is the proper foundation principle. Like any great structure you need the foundation built for search engines.

This is one of the most crucial elements as ethical search engine optimisation takes many months to achieve any results. Search Engines do not give much preference to newer sites as they have to earn their rank. Like anything in life it needs to grow and mature. This is the ethics behind this. Following the criteria that the engines lay out in the form of a riddle. It is ours to solve.

Landing easy terms will happen quicker and the harder ones take time and also many other factors of criteria that the engines set. Because the majority of websites that are live on the internet lack ethical search engine optimization techniques they spend most of their life at the bottom of the list on major keywords in their industry. We see this all the time. It is a full-time job to be current on ethical Search Engine Optimisation that how could a web designer possibly know? Leave this to the Internet Marketing experts like us.

Most companies build a website hoping for the best but they soon experience a sour taste when it comes to the Internet. Remember your website was created to market your business NOT your business marketing your website.

Forget About Submitting To Hundreds Of Search Engines

Writen by Marsha James

Now I know many people will say what? That goes against everything most have learned. You start a website then submit to search engines. That is something we need to do and something that is very important but it's not the most important and not the only thing we need to do.

We do need to submit to the search engines, but you should not pay to submit to hundred's and thousands of search engines. Think about it, there are only a handful of popular search engines. You've never heard of the other thousand engines, so chances are millions of other people have never heard of them either. So why pay $50 or more to a company who claims they will get you top spot in a bunch of search engines that most people won't use.

You can be the only website listed in that engine and it wouldn't matter. If no one is there to search on it, then they can't find you now can they? There are also businesses claiming that they will get you into google, yahoo, msn, and other popular search engines in 24 hours. Those claims are hard because I don't know the methods or if they are even ethical, but most popular search engines, especially google, can take weeks and months to get into and it's hard to say whether or not this company is actually telling the truth about letting you in.

There are many ways to get your website out there. After submitting to the top search engines, search for popular directories and submit your website. This can be more time consuming because there are hundreds of directories. Start with yahoo and dmoz directories. They are two of the most popular ones. There are also software in which you can submit to directories semi-automatically. Not fully automatic because most directories need you to fill in information that the softwares usually can't.

Another tip for getting your website noticed is to get a budget you can live with and advertise with adwords. If you do it right you can be spending less money than if you go with an advertising company. They can cost hundred's and thousands of dollars.

The most important one, but the hardest is getting sites to link in. Linking in means that other websites have a link to your website. It's really good because if this site is in high standing with google, yahoo, alexa and has a good page rank, then google will take notice that and your page rank can go up. Doing this is hard because you need to find similar websites that aren't direct competition and see if they will place a link on their site or trade links, or even sell a little ad space. If you ask 20 websites, then realistically only 1 in that 20 might say yes. So like I said it's difficult. Also only trade or get linked in with sites that complement yours. If you sell clothes you shouldn't link to a site that sells car parts. That will only hurt you with the search engines.

Seo Expert Guide Paid Site Promotion Marketing Part 710

    Writen by David Viney

In parts 1 - 6 you learnt how to develop your proposition, identify your key words and optimize and promote (for free) your site and pages. You were also introduced to our mythical Doug (who sells antique doors, door handles, knockers, door bells or pulls and fitting services) in Windsor in the UK.

Now we turn our attention to paid site promotion, which will be relevant to those of you trying to enter an already crowded marketplace, where your key words are saturated!

    (a) Pay-per-click (PPC) Advertising

Run a search on Yahoo or Google for a popular consumer product like "MP3 players". In the results, you'll see a set labeled as 'Sponsored Links' or 'Sponsor Results'. Some results will appear in colored text boxes along the site of the page, whilst others may appear in the same format as the main search results. All these results are paid advertisements from the sites listed within the ads.

The ranking order is a product of the bid amount (CPC) and the popularity of the ad (CTR%) and are purchased through pay-per-click (PPC) advertising suppliers. The largest two are Google's Adwords (displayed on Google, AOL, Ask Jeeves) and Yahoo's Sponsored Links - run by acquired company Overture (appearing on Yahoo!, MSN, AltaVista, and others). MSN are planning to release their own PPC scheme soon.

If you have tried and failed with free promotion tactics, the chances are that you are operating in a highly competitive area (where a PPC campaign may well be justified). After all, if you can make more money from a converted click-through than it cost you to buy the click-through, why wouldn't you look at PPC?

Look at your A-list of keywords. Refer back to your research on Overture. How many searches are conducted per month on your keywords? How much are you - and your competitors - willing to pay for those keywords?

For your first campaign, use a large number of relevant search phrases, so that you can test and learn what works best. Build unique ads for each search phrase, as this will help to optimize your click-through rate or CTR% (defined as clicks - or unique visitors - divided by page impressions on the ad pages - expressed as a percentage). This in turn means more targeted traffic, in some cases paying less per click (due to the methods by which advertising is priced).

Make sure you use a suitable (and perhaps even a dedicated) landing page for each campaign. Simply sending people to your homepage (from where they have to navigate your site) will not help your conversion rates (defined as sales divided by unique visitors, expressed as a percentage)! Help them to buy, as they are likely to be in a hurry!

The PPC providers give you useful interfaces with which to track the effectiveness of your campaign and overall return on your investment. Pay close attention to which keywords are delivering for you and make notes for future campaign planning.

Whilst there is no hard and fast rule, a CTR% of 1.8% - 3.5% is in an acceptable range (and anything over that represents a very good performance). On Google, if your ad achieves less than 0.5% CTR, your ad may well be de-listed. The lower your CTR%, the more you will have to pay in cost-per-click (CPC) to get into the top 3-4 results in your chosen keywords (vital if you want to appear on partner sites like AOL).

    (b) Paid Directory Submission

I mentioned earlier that Yahoo! Express Submission is the best way to get a listing on Yahoo! Directory. With a node-level PR of 10, Yahoo! Directory carries much weight with Google and the $299 fee (whikst steep and not absolutely guaranteeing a listing) is probably worth the cost.

Do not submit to Yahoo! until you have really tested which site description works best on the free search engines.

    (c) Express Search Engine Submission

In the past, it was only worth doing a paid submission with Ask Jeeves, as this engine continued to enjoy a small but loyal following but did not grow it's index as aggressively as the big boys. This meant paid submission was the only way to guarantee a good placement.

However, Ask Jeeves withdrew this service in 2004 (in favour of a strategy that mirrors the larger players). As such, I would not recommend paid listings with any search engines now.

Next we turn to tools you can use to monitor your ongoing optimization effectiveness...

Search Engine Optimization Seo Boost Your Website Traffic

    Writen by Rory Canyons

Search engines bring more than 80 percent of the traffic for small to medium websites. This tells exactly how important it is for small and medium websites to optimize their web structure and pages for search engines. Optimization of your website for search engine includes many aspects: website content, keywords, URL, meta-tag, back links, etc. Let's explain it one by one.

Select the right keywords. You can pay a visit to your competitors' websites (only those with top-ranked search engine placements). Through analyzing their web contents and meta tags, you can easily find out the keywords they are using. Overture keywords selection tool can also provide you valuable information. Open your favorite browser, enter http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/, type in the search box your keywords or phrases and see how many times they were searched last month. Select those with high search frequency. Google also has a similar keyword selection tool at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordSandbox. You can have a try of both of them and balance the search results.

Target your web site content at selected keywords. After finalizing the keywords, you can now build up your web pages with them. But, be careful, don't overuse any keywords on your web pages. Overuse of keywords may make search engine spiders think you are spamming and get your website banned. How can I judge overuse or not? Go to http://www.gorank.com/seotools/ to have a check of your keywords density, make sure it is within a reasonable range.

Make search engine friendly URLs. Although some of the search engines can follow all dynamic URLs, like http://www.scriptmenu.com/detail.php?id=25257, some of them still prefer static URLs ended with html, htm, etc. To make search engine friendly URLs, you can create real static pages, but you don't have to. The web server URL rewrite engine can make this job much easier by reinterpreting the URLs before getting actual pages. If you need more help or tips on how to implement URL rewrite model, follow the link http://www.scriptmenu.com/detail_24379.html and get a tutorial.

Get quality backward links to your page. Although keywords optimization of your web pages can improve significantly your search engine placement, it is still far from sufficient to get your pages top ranked. You have to get some quality backward links to your websites. You need at least 35 quality back links to make google going to your web site and take a look at you. You can get these quality links by submitting your site to high-ranked web site directories or by writing some quality articles and then submitting them to the high-ranked online article archives. Many other ways exist, but remember, only backward links from quality web sites count. Websites poorly indexed or with very low search engine ranking have no value to you.

Keep on improving your website. By keyword optimization, URL optimization and quality backward URLs, your website should have gotten remarkable search engine placement. However, the placement is not static, you competitors are optimizing their websites and trying to kick you out of your current position. To maintain a good search engine ranking, you have to keep on improving your website. Keep on optimizing your website navigation, content and structure. Keep on getting more quality links from top-rated sites…. The battle for top search engine positions will never end. Good luck, :-)
